The following is an excerpt from an open letter from Steve Forbes to Mark Zuckerberg on June 25, 2019, in regard to Zuckerberg’s Libra fine digital currency, that would “blow bitcoin out of the water”:
And, by the way, you might consider changing the Libra’s name. The “Libra” was a measure of weight from the Roman Empire, and we know where that ended up. Don’t be bashful; call it the “Mark.” Germany ditched its mark—which it had been using since it created it after WWII—for the euro 20 years ago, so the name is up for grabs.
A gold-backed Mark would be a transformative move in the history of money. It would blow bitcoin out of the water and would generate an enthusiastic “Like” from billions of businesses and people, now and forever.

In this letter, the name Mark is a play on words, not only with Zuckerberg’s name but the extinct DM (Deutsche Mark) as well. This could turn out to be the ‘mark’ of the beast spoken of in Revelation 13, which will most likely be a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency).
The Libra was Facebook’s first stablecoin, but it was renamed Diem.
Libra was a cryptocurrency created by Facebook, designed to be a simple, low-fee stablecoin to be used around the world. The digital currency was renamed Diem in 2020 and was wound down in 2022.
The blockchain technology behind Libra (and eventually Diem) was sold to Silvergate Capital Corporation in January 2022.
So, Libra and Diem are history in regard to Mark Zuckerburg. But this evolutionary process of stablecoins could be leading up to The Mark: Libra→Diem→Mark. This is not to say that Mark Zuckerberg will be the antichrist, but if he creates his own coin, it’s going to be huge, and the world knows it. Government officials were responsible for killing Zuckerberg’s Libra (or Diem) project:

At a minimum, we can use The Mark as an excellent shadow of things to come. Currently, Sam Altman’s eye-scanning Worldcoin, which has recently been rebranded to just World, might be on the right track for a one-world economy:

World is an attempt at global scale alignment. It’s going to try and provide a reliable way to authenticate humans online called World ID, to counter bots and fake virtual identities facilitated by artificial intelligence. World attempts to recruit new users to join its network by getting their iris scanned using World’s orb-shaped iris scanner in return for some Worldcoin.
World claims the distribution mechanism was inspired by universal basic income discussions.[20]

The mark of the beast, whatever it turns out to be, will be the world’s answer to major end-time events that will cause food shortages and famine. This could be disaster from climate change, nuclear war, or economic collapse. If elitists and globalists want a one-world currency while everything is fine, then how much more when disaster strikes. Disasters have always been rallying cries for unity. During this time, people won’t be allowed to buy and sell anything, including food, unless they take the mark of the beast, becoming one with the new world order. Famine will play a major role in the coming Mark. Let’s look at the astrological sign for Libra:
And when the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” Then I looked and saw a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales. (Revelation 6:5)
There’s an ominous connection between Libra, scales, famine, and the mark of the beast. Let’s look at this masterpiece by Johannes Vermeer:
In her right hand, she’s holding a pair of empty scales:
Why does this matter? The painting behind the woman is the Last Judgment. Note the Lord Jesus Christ directly above her head. Did the Holy Spirit give insight to Vermeer? Here’s one interpretation of this painting:
To some critics who perceive her as measuring her valuables, the juxtaposition with the final judgement suggests that the woman should be focusing on the treasures of Heaven rather than those of Earth. Woman Holding a Balance – Wikipedia
This is a good interpretation. But the woman is pregnant, and this can remind of us of the labor pains that Jesus Christ speaks about. Let’s continue in Revelation 6:
And I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not damage the olive oil and wine.” (Revelation 6:6)
This scripture can tell us that olive oil and wine may become luxury items and used as black-market currency during a time of hyperinflation and famine. In modern terms, this scripture also tells us that a loaf of bread will cost a day’s pay. But before the black horse comes, the antichrist will come on a white horse. He’s prophesied in Jeremiah 8:16 to come from Dan (Hebrew דָ ן ). This prophecy could mean the antichrist will come from the tribe of Dan or he will invade Israel through the land of Dan in northern Israel.
The antichrist will head the new world order, and in order to buy and sell, a person will have to take the mark of the beast, probably a CBDC, in the form of a technology similar to an RFID chip, smart tattoo, or QR code. If anyone takes the mark of the beast, it means eternal torment in hell.
And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” (Revelation 14:11)
This scripture mentions the beast (the antichrist), and it also mentions his image. The image of the beast will most likely be a transhuman, part human and part AI (iron and clay). Jesus Christ calls him an abomination that will cause desolation. This could happen at a time when the singularity is reached. The singularity, in the context of AI, is a point reached in which machines move beyond our intelligence and become self-sufficient. Knowledge is increasing exponentially, so the singularity could happen sooner than we think.
The new world order cryptocurrency, possibly The Mark, will have a centralized coin with no mining, as we currently understand mining:
Bitcoin mining is a lucrative but resource-intensive process. The most profitable mining ventures are often those that pool together many mining rigs, each of which requires expensive, special equipment. Individuals attempting to mine for bitcoin on their own either have to invest a huge amount of money and time into creating their own rigs or get passed by in the process, as their computers cannot compete with the professional rig system. ―Investopedia.com
As we see in the following Google Patent information, things are starting to get creepy: “Human body activity associated with a task provided to a user may be used in a mining process of a cryptocurrency system.” So, the human body is an energy source. Let’s continue:

Note the patent number is the year 2020 followed by 060606.
The Mark will not be decentralized, and true blockchain is decentralized. Blockchain is a digital ledger that records transactions without a centralized manager. Associations like Libra association simply use “blockchain technology.” This makes them de facto central banks. Let’s listen to Mike Maloney, a monetary historian:
My big fear is that what is going to happen is blockchain technology will be adopted by governments and fiat national currencies will be run on blockchain technologies, and the entire monetary system globally will eventually become cashless, and at that point, if it’s centralized and there’s an entity that runs the blockchain, they can lock you out of it if they don’t like what you’re doing, and they can trace everything that you do. Every transaction, everywhere you go, will be recorded. And so if we’re not careful, this has the ability to enslave us or free us.
It will enslave us. The very existence of CBDCs goes against the defining feature and principle that made cryptocurrencies a valuable asset in the first place: decentralization.
In these last days, God has shown the human race the way to be saved, and the only way is through Jesus Christ. No matter what happens here, and no matter how we meet our end, let’s obey God’s commandments and receive the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ our savior.
