The Spider Who Saved Christmas—A Demonic Book

Spiders are a wonder of God’s creation and are beneficial to the environment:

Spiders have lived amongst humans for centuries and most species don’t harm humans; in fact, many species are beneficial to the environment. Spiders are predators, feeding mainly on insects, so they help to reduce the amount of pests in homes and gardens. Spider Facts and Myths: Debunking Common Spider Myths – PestWorld

Let’s look at the blurb for The Spider Who Saved Christmas:

The Spider Who Saved Christmas tells the tale of what happened to the Holy Family on their way to Egypt after receiving the message of the angel. When Joseph, Mary, and Jesus are in danger of being discovered and harmed by Herod’s murderous soldiers, a cave-dwelling spider named Nephila risks her and her children’s safety to help her hallowed visitors.

Let’s compare this to Scripture:

13 When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.” 14 So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.” (Matthew 2:13-15)

These scriptures don’t mention a spider.

Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you and prove you a liar. (Proverbs 30:6)

If something isn’t true, it’s false. But someone might say, “Oh, it’s just a harmless child’s story.” In 1 Corinthians 4:6, the apostle Paul tells us not to go beyond what’s written. We can’t be sure of the ramifications of a book like this, but God can, and he will judge with perfection.

Many people see spiders as creepy or scary. In discernment, we associate spiders with evil or the power of darkness. But someone might say, “This Golden Orb Weaver spider named Nephila helped the Holy Family, so it’s a good story.” Again, things may appear innocent. Those who created this book might not realize that demonic forces are at work. The devil can raise people up and reward them with money and fame for doing his will, whether they know it or not. This should frighten people. The power of darkness is always try to twist and pervert the word of God.

In the following image from The Spider Who Saved Christmas, note that Mary is covering her right eye, showing only the left eye:

The left eye symbolizes an antichrist spirit.

The one-eye sign is conditioning the world for the coming of the antichrist.

The Spider Who Saved Christmas also claims to reveal the origin of tinsel: This instant classic reveals the origin of Christmas tinsel—barnesandnoble.com

They’re probably referring to a spider’s web as being the origin for tinsel. Let’s go to Wikipedia: Tinsel is a type of decorative material that mimics the effect of ice, Tinsel – Wikipedia

Tinsel has always represented icicles.

Satan is always trying to twist things and distract people from Jesus Christ. At Easter, he throws in the Easter Bunny:

In discernment and mythology, rabbits represent tricksters.

In the Catholic Church, Satan uses Mary the mother of Jesus to distract us from Christ.

Though Mary is the most blessed woman to ever live, she is still a woman in need of a savior like us. Here’s Mary speaking:

My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my savior! (Luke 1:46-47)

We shouldn’t pray to anyone who needs a savior. We should worship only the Savior. In the following scripture, the magi go into the house and find Mary and Jesus together, and they worship him, not ‘them”:

On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh. (Matthew 2:11)

We don’t worship anyone except God through Jesus Christ. There is only one mediator between God and the human race:

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5)

We go through Jesus Christ to get to God. We are reconciled to God through the blood of the Lamb.

At Christmas, Satan distracts people from Christ with Santa Claus.

Satan uses these distractions because he knows that Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved:

Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

But who is Santa Claus? He’s a fictitious character from the father of lies, the devil. Let’s use the following scripture as evidence that the devil is the father of lies. Here’s Jesus speaking to the Pharisees:

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)

When we tell our children that Santa Claus is bringing them presents, we’re lying to them.

But some might say, “It’s just harmless fun” or “It’s a tradition” or “You’re trying to take away our joy.” But where Satan makes his money is when it’s time to tell the children that Santa Claus isn’t real. It might be a huge let down for them and they could be very upset and disappointed. They might say, “If Santa isn’t real, then maybe this Jesus isn’t real either.” They could grow up in unbelief. This is the devil’s reason for Santa Claus.

The devil always tries to degrade Jesus Christ. On the book cover, it looks like the infant Jesus has a cleft palate, and note the two creepy fingers on his shoulder:

Satan has always tried to make Jesus Christ look bad, such as the age-old portrayal of Jesus with long hair. We know that Jesus didn’t have long hair from the following scripture:

Doesn’t nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, (1 Corinthians 11:14)

We can verify this in the Old Testament. The following scripture is in the context of the appearance of Levitical Priests:

They must not shave their heads or let their hair grow long, but must carefully trim their hair. (Ezekiel 44:20)

The Spider Who Saved Christmas is not in line with the truth. At a minimum, this book is pure fiction and detracts from the real story of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Bible is the greatest book ever written. It’s the beginning and end of the human race given to us by our loving God, the creator of the universe. In these end times, let’s stay obedient to God’s commandments. Let’s receive God’s promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ our savior. Happy Holidays!
